Martha received a BA in literature and poetry translation from Hampshire College (Massachusetts).  Martha is committed to helping middle and high School students in all stages of the writing process. Her most generative sessions are with students in the humanities (English Literature, AP English, Social Studies, Language Arts): she believes that when students navigate the intricate world of a literary text, they not only become better readers of the world around them, but of their own writing. However, with three years of experience as a multi-discipline writing tutor, Martha welcomes all learners seeking guidance in essay composition, note-taking, or presentation/ public speaking skills. She takes joy in closing the gap between language and life, between what students see and how they "say" themselves into the world-- a unity that, she holds, disarms fears around self expression, in academia and beyond. Outside her academic pursuits, Martha is a practicing yogi, poet, baker and visual artist.
