Marin Tutors began in 1999 while Shannon was working as a college level math professor and college admissions counselor in Mill Valley, CA. Her vision was: “What if we could reach more students in all subjects and grade levels so that every student has a chance to improve confidence and skills?" The company began with one tutor, a high school algebra teacher. Fast forward to 2024, and Marin Tutors now has over 42 tutors reaching not only K-12 public and private school students, but also serving low income elementary, middle school, high school and college students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. All students deserve top of the line academic tutoring and mentoring to boost self-confidence, gain math and writing skills and improve their chances for acceptances to top high schools and colleges.
